Bonne Anse Plage set in Charente-Maritime France has everything you will need for pool addicts, beach bums and sporty types. Close to the seaside town of La Palmyre and a stroll to the to explore stunning sandy beaches.
Great Location, decent site.
We visited Bonne Anse Plage in August so at peak time and as we expected the site was busy, on arrival there was a short queue to check but ample efficient staff meant we were processed quickly, we had a short wait for the cleaning to be completed on our accommodation but the wait was worth it as the mobile home was excellent and very well equipped. The site is located very close to Palmyre and has direct access to a fabulous network of cycle routes that make St Palais Sur Mere, La Tremblade and Ronce Les Bains easily accessible by bike. The pool and water slides were as busy as you would expect at peak times but pick your moment and you could still get to use them when they were quieter. The nearest beach which offers miles of golden sand is less than 2km away and accessible by bike in a few minutes. The site shop is very well stocked and open long hours with pricing reasonable considering the convenience offered. We didn't sample the entertainment and if that's not your thing then maybe consider a pitch some distance from the centre so as not to be disturbed. All in all a great site, well-staffed with efficient and friendly people.
Great location, lovely family holiday!
We visited with our three children (10,7 and 4) and had a lovely family holiday.
The site was lively but our mobile home was in a quiet area of the park. Our children enjoyed the pool, which was busy but we always managed to get a couple of sunbeds. Out children used the kids clubs a few times and they were reasonably well run. The younger group was very large and on some occasions and inevitably it meant that some of the younger children weren't supported as they needed to be. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my shy, just turned four year old but my 7 year old was fine. The younger group mostly did circle games each day and I think these games were a little over some of the children's heads. That said Cathy was particularly enthusiastic, caring and fun working across the different age groups. Cathy was also outstanding in the entertainment as well and we were amazed at her energy levels, she always seemed to be buzzing around creating fun for the children or performing up on stage.
We had bikes, which we used almost every day. It's really worth taking bikes or hiring them to make the most of the close proximity to lovely sandy beaches and a cycle path up and down the coast.
All in all a lovely holiday, the site was great and the weather was glorious!
